Cure for Tourette’s syndrome (tic disorder) and OCD without medication §43

The Kuriki method (the first edition in 2007) is a theory about Tourette’s syndrome (tic disorder) and obsessive-compulsive disorder to cure these diseases without medication. This theory is based on the author’s inference and interpretation regarding the structure of these diseases. Since it has been written for the psychoanalysts, reading will be difficult for people in general and it might be sometimes read erroneously. Therefore the Kuriki method must presuppose that the patient is treated by a nearby psychoanalyst, and that, between the patient and the Kuriki method, there is always the psychoanalyst. The explosion of emotional catharsis, which has strong repercussions, is done only for three seconds, once a week: beyond this rhythm, it would be an accident caused by negligence, and the psychoanalyst who is inexperienced in emotional catharsis must take responsibility for the temporary mental collapse caused by the accident. Also, to the patient who has weak capacity of logical reasoning, the psychoanalyst must explain well on the violent emotion of revenge caused by the illusory confusion between the person of the traumatic image in his head and the person in the real world.

§43

Genetic factors, hereditary components of Tourette’s syndrome

N. B.
The Kuriki method considers tic disorder as a neurosis, which is a means of repression of the trauma. Tic disorder is the « compulsive intramuscular sensation » and the Absolute Compulsion to the movement of tic: tic disorder will be cured by the abreaction. The heredity of tic disorder is the heredity of the predisposition to tic disorder, that is to say, the heredity of the tendency to the KV (the mechanism of the bodily repression). While the Kuriki method is a theory that is based on the congenital element of tic disorder as an axiom, since the genetic predisposition in relatives (cousins??, uncles, etc., included) is not statistically known, the author does not assert the existence of hereditary predisposition to tic disorder. As there is no statistical data, each reader must judge by himself the existence of hereditary predisposition to tic disorder, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and synesthesia. Often there are web pages and publications that ignore of the social responsibility concerning the existence of hereditary predisposition to tic disorder, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and synesthesia. Only “the real statistical quantity” shows the hereditary predisposition: a theory cannot determine the existence of the genetic predisposition with the social responsibility. It is the social responsibility related to genetic discrimination at the time of marriage. It is important that the Tourette Syndrome, ADHD and Asperger syndrome are diagnosed to avoid the lack of awareness. At the same time, there is a small possibility that, with the diagnosis, the hereditary predisposition will be an obstacle at the time of marriage. Heredity is latent or active: heredity means the heredity of genes. The author has no solution to this problem. The Heredity of tic disorder might involve a “small possibility” of the heredity of Asperger syndrome and the heredity of ADHD, but there is no statistic data.

While the predisposition to obesity, which is genetic, congenital and organic, reduces the energy consumption in the body, the treatment by a regime of calorie restriction and exercises can prevent fat accumulation. If the parents are myopic, sooner or later their children will become myopic. When they have become myopic, eye surgery will not be necessary, but simply they will wear glasses. Even if the cause of the anomaly is organic and congenital, the treatment of the anomaly is not always at the same level as the cause. These level differences between cause, symptom and treatment are applied also to the Kuriki method.

Psychoanalysis is a method of treatment of neurosis. Here, the following two characteristics of neurosis are important.
· The formation of neurosis is based on organic predispositions.
· The neurotic symptoms are bodily symptoms.
Of course, the bodily symptoms of Tourette’s syndrome do not directly indicate the tic movements, but the « compulsive intramuscular sensation » in the voluntary muscles and the bodily level in the compulsion of tic movements. The bodily level in the compulsion, it means that the compulsive resolution of the bodily sensation is done in the domain of bodily movements. Likewise, there is no obsessive-compulsive disorder without action as resolution.

Some of the misconceptions are;
“Neurosis is a illness with mental symptoms, due to a non-organic cause, and psychoanalysis cannot cure organic diseases.”
“Genetic diseases have organic causes, and the treatments of genetic diseases are done by surgery and medication.”
“Tic is an inherited involuntary movement.”

The Kuriki method consists in assuming the hereditary components of Tourette syndrome, the genetic elements of tic disorderTourette syndrome. The totality of these three components will be inherited as the pathological predisposition.
(1) The heredity of the way of bodily repression, i. e., the heredity of KV.
30% of patients with tic have also obsessive-compulsive disorder. One is not a complication of the other. The heredity of Tourette’s syndrome happens at the level where an obsessive-compulsive disorder is also possible. It can happen, for example, that a mother has an obsessive-compulsive disorder and her daughter has a tic disorder.
(2) The heredity of the tendency of dysautonomia.
The tendency of dysautonomia means that the connection of the bodily reaction to a mental state can be very sensitive and fast. For example, having sweaty hands immediately in a psychologically tense situation, etc. The heredity of a sensitive predisposition that will enable the « compulsive intramuscular sensation » of tic disorder and the « compulsive physical sensation » of OCD.
(3) The heredity of the tendency to the formation of mass of emotion.
The existence of the insulator is recognized empirically. Insulation is one of the defense mechanisms in psychology of healthy mind for the general public by Anna Freud. However, it seems to me that, in the theory of the treatment of bodily symptoms of neurosis, Sigmund Freud considered this word as insulation in electricity and thermodynamics. Insulation means blocking between two substances. If the judgment on the calculation of 2 + 3 = is repressed, and this repression is repeated every day, the judgment after 365 days will be 1825 instead of 5, that is the accumulation of unresolved judgments. Disagreeable judgements will be repressed and a large mass of emotion will be formed by a very strong isolation at energy level. It is basic in psychoanalysis to recognize the mass of emotion as an existence at material level. This strong isolation of repression can be, statistically speaking, a hereditary component. The trauma that causes a tic disorder is often a calm trauma. The problem is the congenital tendency of the insulation between the traumatic image and the potential emotion. The tendency of accumulation. The image is always visible, but with this insulator, the potential emotion is isolated behind the image, and the image cannot be recognized as a trauma. The target of catharsis is the concrete image of the traumatic thing, and the emotion cannot go out with any substitution such as music, dance, sports, etc.
The theory of the Kuriki method is based on the premise of the congenital element of the tendency of repression of disagreeable judgments and the selection of the KV, and at the same time, the operation of reducing the mass of emotion has overcome this congenital element. In neurosis, the congenital element and the symptoms are clearly separated. It is a way of treatment for the healing, even if there is a congenital element. The curative effects of the Kuriki method are independent from the facts that, among the people of the family, there is someone who is not very intelligent or someone who has daltonism, etc., etc. In the treatment of tic disorder, the congenital element is a matter of degree and it has no meaning to be demarcated from the healthy state.
